It all started in 1947 when Dr. Erich Steingroever founded his first company ELEKTRO-PHYSIK in Cologne, Germany. Over the years it gained an outstanding reputation in the field of magnetic techniques. In addition the development and production of surface testing instruments was also pursued with great success.

Over the years the activities of the company specialized in this field to such a degree, that in 1976 Dr. Steingroever decided to found a new company which dealt exclusively with magnetics. Thus MAGNET-PHYSIK Dr. Steingroever GmbH came into being.

Since the formation of this company, Dr. Steingroever has been actively supported by his son Dietrich Steingroever. He acts as the technical director of the company.


In 1999 MAGNET-PHYSIK has founded the company MAGNET-PHYSICS INC., USA to serve the North American market. More than 25 years of experience in magnetics in the United States go together with precision products engineered in Germany.

Due to the high standards of quality the company holds itself to, MAGNET-PHYSIK has been recognized as the undisputed world leader in magnetics for many years.

The activities of the company extend all over the world and today exports account for about 70% of turnover.

Thanks to the high demands which the company sets itself it has been the undisputed number 1 in the World market for years.
